The Esthetician Program is a 600-hour curriculum offered in a 24-week program. The Esthetics Program at Downey Adult School is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in the beauty industry. The primary purpose of the Esthetics Program is to train the learner in the basic manipulative skills, safety judgement, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to obtain a licensure. The curriculum covers essential skills in skincare, makeup application, hair removal, and other advanced esthetic services. Upon completion, students will have the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain licensure from the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
