Advanced Private Security Academy

This two week, 80 hour course is a comparative examination of the technical and hands on aspects of physical activity, as well as the relationship of the criminal justice system and physical security. It provides overviews of the administrative, personnel, and physical asepcts of the security field. Additionally, the course provides hands on training with lethal and non-lethal weapons. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to apply for BSIS CA licensure as an Armed and Unarmed Security Officer with SB 1626 School Security Certification. Each student will receive training in the following:

• Traffic and Crowd Control • O.C. Pepper Spray/Use of Force • Baton Training • Firearms Training • SB1626 School Security Training • Handcuffing • Unarmed Self Defense • CPR/First Aid • Taser • Patrol Procedures • Advanced Report Writing
